September 2014,

I became obsessed with Mario games from my childhood. One of these games was obviously 'Super Mario Galaxy 2'. I was amazed by everything that this game had, including the incredible amount of features, the amazing designs of the galaxies, and the exciting gameplay.

 

That month, I also finished my first Minecraft adventure map, which was quite a fun experience. I was thinking about other maps to make, and then it happened. "Boom", it was like the big bang inside my head: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Minecraft

It was the best idea ever, and I imagined creating such a big project.

"Building every galaxy, programming all features from the original game..." 

Hold on! this project will take ages!

That's why I posted a request on the Minecraft Forums in order to ask if there were any people who wanted to help me. From the people who responded to my request, I made a small team of 3 members. Later on, new members kept coming and now I work together with 7 amazing people!

No one expected what this map would become but now we can finally get a clear view of what we've been working on. This project that we've built has taken over 2 years of motivation, creativity, and cooperation! We want to give you the same experience as you would have while playing the actual game. We brought basically all possible features from Super Mario Galaxy to our map: power-ups, items, enemies, bosses, characters, galaxies, textures, sounds, music....

The map starts with princess Peach being kidnapped... again. You meet a lost luma, named Master Luma, who will help you on your journey through the galaxies. To find Bowser's Galaxy Generator, you will have to collect all the stars you can find! The stars can be collected by completing a galaxy. Use your spin attack against enemies or to activate power-ups! Find extra lives to avoid being defeated.

This is a new experience in Minecraft.
